A rogue wave…

Tuesday, June 17th, 2008

Enough about the ladies. It’s time for the fellas to get some ink.

Underneath it all, men care. They really do. They care about how they look. They care if their jeans make them look fat. They care if they should wear their shirt tucked in or out. They suffer the same kind of anxieties and complexities, if you will, that ladies do when it comes to clothing and what looks good. But you’ll rarely bear witness to it. Men internalize, women verbalize. It’s just the way it is.

And then there are those fellas…the guys who really don’t give a damn, and yet somehow manage to look extremely enticing, most of the time. Perhaps it’s that offhanded confidence that emmanates like a tractor beam, captivating all in its wake.

This is the guy who wouldn’t know a Bespoke suit from Men’s Wearhouse, and frankly could care less. Maybe he works construction (hell, he probably owns the company), maybe he pull traps off Georges Bank. He’s more Keith Richards than Charlie Watts; more rugged Maine fisherman than urban lawyer; more rogue than refined.

It’s kind of like a vintage black Tele versus a shiny new cherry red Gibson guitar. Hot coffee versus an iced mocha latte. Monkey Man versus Dancing Queen. What are you more drawn to?

This is Rogues Gallery versus Banana Republic, and trust me. The world of men’s fashion will never be the same.

Stop by Rogues Gallery at 41 Wharf Street, Portland, Maine or check it out online at www.roguesgallery.com
